87-years-young Sarah on the piano

Sarah (Urshan) Goss has been playing the piano since the age of 7, which makes it 80 years of playing the instrument with great passion and counting. Born of an Assyrian/Persian father (originally from Urumiah, north-east of Iran) and a British/American mother in the United States, she is the mother of nine children, five girls and four sons. She studied the Bible and graduated from the Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California in 1941. She has actively appeared in various public events such as art galleries or social communions as a model representer of local costumes and traditional cuisine in the USA, Egypt, Israel and elsewhere. She has played the piano also for similar events in churches or other places and still does it upon friends' and acquaintances' special requests for weddings or other gatherings. While wandering around for used and antique items in a thrift store on a late Saturday afternoon in February 2008, I met Sarah playing a very old but still working piano, and she was doing it so nicely that everybody stopped there for a while watching her performance while listening to some great tunes she played so beautifully indeed at the age of 87. (That is only 3 years shy of being 90 years young btw!) Seeing her high spirited presence in that environment with the sound of her music just made all of us so happy and filled up with great joy! Sarah, let's wish you hundreds of years to come your way with you playing the piano just so beautifully as ever. The noise in the background is also due to a radio being on and playing in high volume in the store.)
